Abstract
This paper introduces a method for solving polynomial equations of the fifth degree and higher. It sets out a general factorization procedure that makes it possible to break a fifth-degree polynomial expression down into solvable linear and quartic factors. Quartic equations were first solved by Lodovico Ferari, and today they can be solved through a range of methods described in various texts.
Keywords: degree five polynomial equations, Abel-Ruffini theorem, Galois Theory, splitting field.
